Has anyone done any mods for when at elevation? Our 200 works great but can use more track speed out in the big hills?

The 200 gets a good start but gets stomped by the 120 animal mod. 200 is barely crawling at the top when the hill gets steep.

Looks like there is some clutch kits available. Kinda. This one says 2018-19. Not sure if the clutches changed after that? Mines a 2020.

I would like to find a 3000-6000 foot kit!

Looks like they have them available. Try specialty maybe they can order for you?

This has some info on on a few things including the factory clutch setup but I've never played with mine at all.

Looks to me like your 120 has taller gearing on it than the 200. The 200 seems to shift out ok but just doesn't have the top speed of the 120, I'd think gearing is where you want to look more than clutching

Rec Motors would have way more knowledge than me but I happened to come across this when I was looking for info on ours, thought I'd pass it along

Ya defiantly need to do a bit of research. That picture you posted looked like the link I was in. It only was listing 2018-19. Not sure if clutches changed for 2020 and newer. 🤷. I’ll send speedworks an email at some point. Says out of stock until June on their site.

Looks like there might be others options too but they didn’t have different elevation options. I’ve got the summer to figure it out and find parts.

I was hoping that Jerry at Central sled was going to have an extra 200 for me to look at and play with some springs an helix's. Hes been sold out the whole winter, so never had a chance to tinker with one.

Rec motors is focused on flat land racing. Primary clutch has to be stock as mentioned in your link above to keep things even there. No rules on the mountains!

Not enough snow at home this year for the kids to lake race at home but the 200 wouldn’t get stomped the same at home.

The 120 does have a 206 animal race engine though!

I don’t think the 200 would benefit from taller gearing. I don’t think it’s pulling peak RPM at elevation as it is. (No gauge and I’m not riding it). Top of that hill is 6500 feet and the sleds performance change is noticeable even from the bottom to the top of that hill . Stock clutching is probably clutched for sea level.

Ya my 2019 seemed to work well at home and at quartz (6500-7500ft) so I never played with it at all, ended up upgrading to a bigger sled when she got bored rather than putting money into the 200

🤟. Yep. We have an evo too. It has over impressed. It is a sled shuffle year for us. Our youngest, 5 year old will move up to the 200, 8 year old to the Evo, and I’m On the search for an Axys chassis 600 for my 11 year old. Sell the 120 in the fall.

The 200 just needs a little tweek to climb over hills like little Bell in mcbride. It has failed a few times. But I really didn’t know it wasn’t working properly until the 120 climbed past the 200 stuck near the top.

I found an 600 for my 12 year old so we will be doing the sled shuffle this year. The Animal will be available!
