XC 700i

I have the opportunity to purchase a 1999 XC 700 black in color near new very low mileage always stored inside. I have never owned a polaris he told me $1500 is this a good price. The track shows virtually no signs of wear.
if purchased what are somethings I should watch for on it.

It’s a 136” track which is considered a short track. So in any amount of deep snow it’s gonna suck. It might be worth 1500 to him but I wouldn’t pay over a grand for it. Prolly 750 tops. I guess it’s worth what someone is willing to pay. Good luck whatever you choose to do. People get all weird when they have owned something for so long and they think it’s the **** like it was two decades ago. Don’t be sad if he doesn’t drop his price. I used to ride one back in the day and I don’t remember any problems with it. Good to go on reliability.

I cannot recall if that engine that year had the Variable exhaust valves on it, like the xcr 440 and the 800. Im thinking it did not.
The engine will be more user friendly and reliable without it, if it does the maintenance will be alot higher, FYI.

Id love to have a old polaris to ride around home.
