Its a long way off the beaten path on oilfield roads. Been to minnow lake lots, but never went out to wolf lake.

Fickle, shiningbank and fairfax lake is popular and better access.

Last time I was there (3 years ago) fishing was slow for pike. There are places to tie up your boat at either camp area (main or overflow). Main area you’re 20-30’ from lake, overflow your 60-80’ away, but more heavily treed (nice when the wind blows through the area). The main campground area is pretty open (treed but not much to knock the wind down). I’ve heard of Perch in the lake but never caught any or heard of anyone catching them.

The old guy that hand chopped all that free wood out there was a legend, he must be gone now?

As I recall his name was Rolph? He was really old when I last saw him 3 years ago.
That's what I was thinking too Rolph.Its been over 8 years since I been out there.....we did a bit of swimming too,the water was nice and clear.
