Snow is pretty decent now. Most south trails have been groomed! Warm weather for the weekend! Should be great!

We bought our seasons passes and rode almost all the way to Silver Summit from the Groat Creek Staging area on Saturday, some of the hills were getting a bit chewed up but we managed to find some great snow to play around in. Big thanks to those who work so hard to keep the trails maintained in the area!

It seemed like most of the sleds from the Groat staging area turned north at intersection #35, so from there towards the Shiningbank lookout there was only two other sleds on the trail, they turned around just beyond Shiningbank.

Thinking of making a day trip to whitecourt, couple questions. Does one have to stay to the trails or is there open areas to ride also? If so where's the best place to stage and head to? We all have mountain sleds and don't want to wreck them, also how's the snow?
