Clemina was great today. Had a good 30cm of untouched, and lots more in areas.

The snow is moving out there though, so ride safe. Our group triggered a size 2.5 on Bauer this morning. No other evidence of the snow moving, no visible cracking, whumpfing, nothing. We stayed away from the bigger slopes after that.

A few more from that one.
We figured a 3 to 4.5 ft thick. Close to 600ft wide and travels roughly 300ft down. More down and to the right of us.

9 of us where up there. The hill was tracked heavy from us. And none of us saw the slide. Just looked up and the hill was gone.

Clemina access to Hillclimb/Bauers

In case some people don't know, there is a much safer way to get to Hillclimb/Bauers that doesn't expose you to the overhead hazard of the "shoulder route" (which looks to have been buried by debris from yesterday's slide). As you get into the 3rd cutblock, go across climbers left into a fourth cutblock. About 2/3 of the way along the top edge of the fourth block, go up into the trees between 2 delimbed trees and some old flagging (and stop and do some additional delimbing). About 100m through the trees on a leftward line and you will pop out of the trees in the Hillclimb/Bauers area. The route is usually fairly well used, so anyone (even backcountry skiers who can't ride a sled worth s**t), shouldn't have any problems using it. Here's a crappy sketch of the route on Google Earth.

Chappell was EPIC today. We climbed up and over from upper tiffany in to the Norbert Meadows area. We chewed up untouched snow that was up over the bars all day. We probed 295cm back there in the open. If we had a bit of sun it would have been a perfect day. The trail beat the sheet out of all of us on the way down though. No pictures, maybe one of my buddies will throw some up later.

We were 1st ones over the top by upper Tiffany
It was epic.
Probed 300cm of snow.

At the end of the day, found a doo with a busted bar. Broke in the same place buddies did on our last trip. So we were able to help the guy out by doing the same fix.
