Hi All

It is with a sad heart to tell you that our long time friend and colleague RUDI HAAK has passes away. He died on December 10, 2020 from a heart attack at home with his loving wife Loraine at his side. Rudi was 70 years old.

Rudi was such an active guy. He was the driving force behind the Sherwood Park Snowmobile Club, then very active with the Tri-County Snowmobile Club, hosting the Santa’s Toy Rides and Gymkhana’s Fun Days. He was always there to help someone get the sleds or vehicles going and make sure everyone was having fun.

He sat on the board of directors for Tri-County and had just become the President of the Edmonton Fish and Game Association. He remined me of the Energizer Bunny – he was always on the go…

As this only happened this afternoon, December 10, 2020, I do not have any information on the following family decisions or how COVID will play into the decisions. I will try to inform you once things get finalized.

Would be nice of you could post pictures or comments of riding / sledding with Rudi over the past 40 years,

I'd like to Extend my condolences to the Haak family.
Rudi was the guy that got my Dad into snowmobiling.
Rudi was also a great go to guy for mechanical advice and tid bits.

He will be deeply missed.

Rest in peace.

When Tri-County Snowmobile Club bought our BR180 from Prinoth in Calgary.
Rudi volunteered to drive down and inspect the groomer and trailer it back
That was an exciting day.

Rudi liked volunteering for both the Leduc Santa's Parade and the Leduc Black Gold Rodeo Parade
Here he is hauling in the BR180 and Drag for the 2008 Santa's Parade

Hey Brian,

I understand with Covid and all that this may be hard to do.
But seeing snowmobiling is fairly social distancing sport (at least while riding)
Is Tri-County looking at doing a memorial ride for Rudi?

Or ever perhaps naming a section of trail in his honor?
