Re: Tunnel

I Would Get Ahold Of Either Mountain Magic, Specialty Sleds, Or Absolute Power & Performance(st.albert). They Should Be Able To Help You Out. :) How Did It Happen???

the storey

here goes

truck # 1 broke down 30 km from home, broken clamp on intake line for turbo from intercooler, local dealer has clamp's
called truck # 2 to come and get me , got clamps returned to truck # 1
start surgurey  dealer gave me the wrong clamps- to big - screw it unhook trailer and park truck # 1 in ditch call dealer and tow truck.
hook trailer to truck # 2 carry on to terrecana lodge :beep:

make it to hinton , truck # 2 dies at last light in town , call truck # 3
they turn around and come back to hinton. tow truck # 2 and trailer of the hiway to candian tire lot. check filters and anything else we can bang on,
truck # 2 is a no go
unhook trailer and truck # 3 tow's truck # 2 to dealership
truck # 3 has a deck with 2 sled's :yahoo:
all seems good... short tongue on trailer long sled's on deck??????
:Ponder:
find tape measure , ok trailer will fit deck but noy with sled's, trailer will only hold one more sled,:Ponder:
no sweat one sled in trailer and turn sled on deck sideways..
unload sled rehook trailer and drag sled to back of trailer
ready to load............ not ..............
yup you guessed it keys are in truck # 1 five hour away...

another problem..another solution.

unhook trailer take truck #3 back to truck # 2 get sledge hammer and pry bar
break into trailer load sled hook up to truck # 3 and get out of town
arrive at terrecana just at last call

more storey

ok that was the truck storey now the sled storey

allen creek
snow and weather are perfect :clap2: :Snowmobile1:
fun fun by all untill 3pm..... the rwreck...now the work start's:mad:

was sidehilling and hit trough # 1 knee's buckled and then hit trough # 2
 auto pilot engaged... gravity is not your friend:hmm:--- short leg's + deep snow + not 18 anymore = just shy of catching up to avert disaster !!!
down she goes.... thanks to the guys already down there digging out a phaser for the attempt at trying to catch my sled........

tree's + runaway + gravity + steep = rwreck

after much digging in the well's of four tree's we got the xrs pointed up again:) after a lot of pushing pulling and swearing we got the sled up far enough to make bush repairs, it had locked steering...:plugears:

unhooked sway bar softened shock and layed the boot's to pretty much the entire left side and voila steering:hi:

tough ride out as had to side hill on the damaged side almost all the way back to the cabin. my arms are at least 3 inches longer than before from pulling sled over on to the edge without shock compressing...

next morning we found a sympathetic farner in mcbride and did some surgurey
tools used:
1) four wheel drive tractor
1)come along
1)steel bar
1)vise
1)anvil
1)sledge hammer
2)chains
1) steel fence post
we anchored the sled to the tractor and used the come along to roll and stetch the a arms back into shape
same process to roll spindle back into near vertical position
shock and tie rod in vise and on anvil
reassemble and off to the renshaw:cool:
rode all day
a little bent but still had a good time

damage tally

sled

bent and buckled tunnel and bulkheads
steering post bent
bars bent
a arms bent
tie rod bent
shock bent
hood's warped and punctured
pride- you know !!!
insurance to cover repairs !!!:clap2:

trucks
#1 towing and clamps - warranty
#2 high pressure oil pump - warranty

thanks for the info on the parts
still waiting to get pics and video's

Just wondering how your gonna be able to put an aftermarket tunnel on. When insurance repairs it, don't they have to return it to stock?
