Hahah, I remember my mom being choked that there were gross little chunks of potato all over her house.

Spud Darts was the best game! You'd throw four lawn darts in the air at once then try to make it onto the step while your older brother and his friends peppered you with spud bullets.... ahhh good memories!!

Didn’t have one of those, but a crack barrel pellet gun and rabbit feed for ammo made for interesting weekends.
Damn, that's a great idea. Got a couple of those pellet guns and a pallet of pig feed pellets.....

Pretty sure those would break ribs at close range.
Couple of cows may have taken a hit over the years.
Still have a 24" barrel, brother had the Jedd Clampet model, 48" barrel.

I had built some and used Deep Woods Off for "gun powder"......man did the spuds fly lol! a little to aggressive on the beer and bug spray resulted in a damaged spud gun and buddy's burnt shirt :LOL:

We split a few expansion chambers with Alberto VO5 hair spray - our choice gunpowder.
Screw clamp and duct tape held the end cap in place.
Spray down the barrel, put tight fit potato in and compress load.
We tapered inside top of barrel to make sure peeled potato had air seal.
Quit when we could bounce potato off of shop roof 150yds from house.
Was not a toy any more.
