Towards smith eh. Its not quite that far but as you're headed up hiway 44, at the turn off for smith is a place called Hondo. just keep an eye out to the west. that's the end of "the north road" from chisolm. There are trails all the way south from hondo down to tieland road. have fun. i'd recommend packing a saw. the rural residence can't keep up with the natural dead fall. hope that helps

Go though the town of Smith.... cross the Athabasca River .....go past east Fawcett Lake turn off.... then look for West Fawcett Lake Turn Off .... Turn Right go 20 kms past Fawcett Lake Provincial Park to Fawcett Lake River..... Good Camping Area there .....if it is busy you can find many camping spots futher down the road! See you out there!

So what are the trails like out that way? We like to travel a lot of miles in a day and don't like to spend all day getting unstuck. Harder packed trails are what we like, but don't mind the occasional bog, and water on the trail is fun.

Just curious if there are other (or more) trails in the area.
Rode up there in 2016 ans 2017. Then we were up there this past Saturday, which is what I mapped.
Heading up there for the weekend. Just wondering if there are other trails, how far can you go if you cross that creek?
Is there much on the other side of the Athabasca?
Thanks.

You can ride into smith from that lot at the bottom of the hill. Follow the tunnel, and follow the tracks right into town. That’s some fun skeg just before town
