Does anyone know if the new rotax outboards are two strokes. brp shows a picture of the manitou pontoon boat with a rotax engine. Doesn’t say if it’s a two stroke or four stroke.

They mention Rave Valves and Etec in some of the articles so I am going to say two stroke on the 115 and 150hp models.

What's interesting is that BRP killed the Evinrude line citing difficulties meeting emissions and being cost competitive with the 2 stroke technology. And then comes out with this?

It is, bit after seeing pictures of the boats it makes sense. Get the full swim platform like an inboard, but with no loss of interior space. Best of both worlds in that regard.
Seems like someone in the boardroom had the thought, "why are well selling our 2 strokes onto pontoon boats that sell for $20k CAD, when we could kill that line of motors and make our own boats with the motor and sell them for $70k."
