Strange issue I'm having. Recoil died on me during the last trip of the year in Revelstoke last season. Got the sled home, new recoil ordered and installed. Brand new recoil worked fine before installing, so did the old one after I pulled it off. The only way I can get the recoil to work on the snowmobile is if loosen all the bolts to hand tight. Starter cup doesn't look like its damaged or very worn but I'll be replacing it next. Any other ideas what could be causing this issue?

Stupid question. Are you sure you routed it right?
I found on the Arctic Cats
If you run the rope over the cross tube it will not pull.
Run it under it rubs the coil wires but you can pull it.

Yeah I for sure had it routed right, wasn't rubbing or hanging up on anything.

Lol pulls just fine, it's the going back in that's the problem.
if you shake it more than once you're just playing with yourself haha jk
Definetly a weird one. Toss some grease on the recoil maybe ?

My uncles would only work when cold. When motor was hot the dogs wouldn’t connect. I believe he ended up
Changing the steel cup that bolts to engine to
Rectify his issues.

Could you just red locktite and leave your bolts loose if it works like that?
