New Rmax Sport tires
Had the new machine out finally , loved it . Totally happy with all the facets of it , even the shoulder bolster thingys that I thought would drive me nuts . After a couple of hours I didn’t even notice they were there.
But , these new dual tread tires …….. are 100 % useless in anything greasy or deeper mud. In a little mud stretch , on the flat , snotty type mud with hard bottom , we stopped in the middle and these tires wouldn’t even push it out , fill up first revolution and become literal slicks ! Worst tires I’ve ever even seen in anything wet or muddy. Messing around on a 5-7 % dry grass covered hill , stomped it and broke tires loose , on dry grass !
Maybe on rocks or asphalt these tires were a good idea But around here , terrible. I don’t want a full on mud tire but sure as hell want some kinda traction ! Not sure what I’ll replace them with yet .

I’ve been running Carnivores on my X2 for the last 3 years. Most riding is in Tumbler Ridge area, so mountains, rocks, gravel, dirt but not much mud. Hunting season, I switch to Mudlites.
hope this helps in your decision making.

Yeah I know the carnivores are popular but I think I want a little more traction in mud , but I don’t want a full blown mud tire.

I really liked my blackwaters. We’re better in the mud than my carnivores. Weren’t quite as good at everything else but definitely outshined them in the mud

New shoes for the Rmax. Was looking at Cryptids, but bumped into a almost new set of 30 x10x14 Outback Max‘s for basically half price, so went that way. Liking this new Yammy , 17 inches of clearance under the front end , and with the full belly plastic gonna take something extreme to hang this thing up. Gonna take it to Arizona with us for the winter, so I’ll put the stock tires back on , they’ll do well on the rocks.
