Lumber futures dropping

Is there a reprieve coming? I’m sure takes a while to hit retail but lumber futures are trading off a May 5th high of $1698 to $1000 today to $700 for Jan 2022. Maybe hope that a $4 2x4 will happen again as people abandon home renos for holidays after 18 months of lockdowns. Lumber co stocks like canfor have the exact same chart.

Nice, by next summer Lumber should be back to normal, hoping anyway.

^^ I’m hoping, plan was to build a house this summer we bailed out on materials costs, wasn’t bad when was just lumber but then the whole of supply chain disruptions kicked in electric, plumbing, heating, siding, roofing Etc.

Yeah I heard in calgary contractors are taking their material home with them and not leaving it at the job site because of the material theft.

Windsor plywood in the park has 24hr security guard now because of theft
