Leupold M8 scope question

So I found a older leupold m8 6x42 scope for sale. Seller wants $300 for it and it was made in 1991. I am not sure if they were doing the multi coated lenses yet at that time.

is this a good price for this scope. No scratches on it or then lense, could use a good cleaning.

and how would it stack up against my fx-2 4x33 in terms of clarity?

Wouldn't waste you're money on a scope such as this for the price. Reticles are likely pounded out. Vortex diamondback and the Leupold VX1 are both on sale for the roughly the same price as that used one. Unless it's a higher end scope buying used you are tossing the dice.
