Make sure you test on a scrap chunk of uhmw first. That stuff is nothing like wood to drill or work with. Even a countersink bit will grab and pull right through the sheet before you blink.

Yes that part is not on the bit yet. The top of the cutter needs to be flush with the uhmw. I’m just going to tack a washer on the bit to set the depth. As for test pieces I had some but left them at home. Tmw I may have time to test the cutter in uhmw.

Are you welding a stud on the boat then weld the washer around the stud? Or just plug welding the washer straight to the boat? High caliber uses a stud that’s why I ask

Was planning on plug welding the washer right to the hull of the boat. I’m going to building something to put pressure in the washer while it’s getting welded. No idea if that’s a good idea or not but that’s what life’s all about, learning the hard way.... I’m up for advice tho. Are they welding a threaded stud then using a nut to tighten the washer down?

Not that I can see. It’s just a piece of about 3/8” aluminum 3” long. He welds that to the boat then pushes the washer tight and welds it to the stud. Then grinds it flat.

With just plug welding I would be worried about not getting enough fusion. It usually takes a bit to get it starting to burn in good. I would recommend 4943 wire over 5356.

Been a busy week. Just waiting on the 557 and the upholstery guy. There will be a few days of messing around once I get those items tho.

Buddy of mine is doing an energizer upgrade kit to a jacuzzi in an old tub....

Does anyone have pictures of a zipper bowl?

Or good pics of their transom sealing method when the bowl is in the transom like the boat above ^^^

Hes got the old bowl seal and the energizer bowl has an oring groove to assist in sealing, He's thinking of machining this same groove into the 309 bowl if nothing else... and lotsa right stuff

Bring that bad boy to Red Deer. We have a guy in a 19' step-tec hitting low 90s looking for a race.

Idk how fast it’s going to be. It’s a HEAVY unit. I’m thinking 70mph, time will tell. The rotating assembly is being held up at the balancing shop :(.

I have no idea what The NA 557 will push the boat around. First jet boat I have ever owned. The engine can easily do 1100 with a turbo tho........
