the boys were up kingfisher way today and woke a bear up
he came scooting out of some trees close to where they were getting unstuck
Wow..............that's funny. We think of carrying a defender when we go quadding but never enters ones mind on a sled. That's got to be a rare occasion. I have seen and followed fresh grizzly tracks in the spring. This is a long way from spring.

Is it crappy up on the mountain too? Was thinking of heading out there tomorrow for some snowbiking. Driving
6 hrs. Worth it? Coming from McBride.

Just finished 4 days riding bike in sicamous. Blue Lake and Eagles. It's mostly hero snow but soft enough to smash pillows. You just take chunks of melt crust to the face instead of pow. Still found great snow 50ft off the trail in the trees.

Trails were groomed nicely but the crust chunks and sled carbide lines made the ski dart everywhere. Few close calls.

Tuesday-Wednesday had rain in the lot and wet heavy up top. Then Thursday-Friday was mostly sunny and warm.
It was interesting to watch the roof slab slowly get heavier and start sliding off the shack.

Hope some of that helps make a decision. Ride safe if you go. There's a SPAW out for the area. Our cabin owner set one off in the trees.

Killer snow up in the hunters range today.

Some awesome parking by some on the FSR in the middle of the road to block the road to anyone else and leave the ramps out.

Hunters kills it on the grooming too, smooth trails that stay that way.

Yes they do. Wonder what they do different than Sicamous cause they can't get it done.

Back in the day, there was an argument with the younger generation (who wanted to go fast and getter done) and us older guys. We always compared it to farming and there were ultimate speed zones. If you went too fast the trail didn't stand up and if you didn't blade to cut the majority of the moguls, it went to chit. Believe it or not, it took a good operator to pull the drag and blade a "baby butt smooth" trail.
Personally, I don't think the tillers do as good a job as a drag (the trail certainly doesn't last as long with a tiller), but don't tell that to the guys using tillers.

Going to fast likely explains what they are doing in Sicamous and probably why their junk is always broken. Not hearing any compliments on what the new management has brought to the table.

Sorry to break the news;
Big, wet sloppy mess as of today. Right to the top. Trees are unloading and steeper slopes are snowballing.
Next few days are supposed to be some of the warmest yet. Could go either way depending on how cold it gets at night.
