picked up a 2009 summit 800 last year for the lake, it had 140 orginal kms on it, it now has 1000 kms total on it compression was 145 a side when bought it, now it is 120 and 125, is this time for pistons and rings or is that average for them ?

Thats not terrible. Most likely good for a while yet.

How does it go into reverse? If it dies time for a top end. Those numbers aren't great

Cousins sled just started acting up it is a 2015 free ride 800, horrible idle would not hold and would die when thrown Into reverse. Checked compression and 90 one side 125 the other. He’s doing a top end as we speak, sled has hardly over 1000 miles iirc.

I’d say at 125 you’re fine for a while but keep checking

Nothing wrong with those numbers, it will run for many more kilometers.
People get hung up with compression numbers on 2smokes and it means shet. What's more important is the differences between cylinders, should not exceed 10%.

Yah I wouldn’t worry about those compression numbers. The crank will likely go before top end.
