Carb Tuning 97 670 summit with Pods

My buddy's boy is looking at putting pods on a 670 summit with 44mm carbs.
Just need a starting point on the mains, and needle clip position.
Sled will be run at about 3000' (Red Deer).

Tell him to leave the air box on. He won't gain much other than sucking in hot underhood air instead of cool air behind the windshield. The airbox on those flowed decent with just the lower shelf taken out. If he's stuck on doing it you need about 10 sizes on the mains. The midrange was lean on those sleds with the side outlet pipe so I'd raise the needle 2 notches and try it. My advice is for what I noticed with 40mm carbs, the 44s may not need quite that much extra fuel but better safe than burnt down.

Agree, leave the stock aifbox on it. It will perform a lot better. I know from experience.
