Wind is a very unreliable source, to many variables in output, way too much maintenance costs, lots of downtime due to breakdowns, not to mention the millions of migratory birds they kill. Couple old friends of mine we used to sled with are tge maintenance guys that work on the windmills and he was saying they are like slaughter houses for birds. Also so much paperwork, and safety garbage that an hour or two fix takes days to get done just on crossing t's and dotting i's. And they break down steady, they cant ever keep up
