Removed airbox in favor of k&ns. Now what to do with lines going to airbox . do i plug them of or tie into filters. Anyone got a fix

Float Bowl equalization is what they did. With the airbag removed you would just plug them. I personally didn't like the K&N's because of the heat under the hood. You can make more power by just gutting the air box and sucking cold air from outside.

If your racing pods are good, but the airbox is better.

Had a 97 that came with pods, took them off and put box back in,
Ran way better and less jetting

Air box removal is good if your a tuner and know what your doing and that generally includes knowing and understanding carburation and all the related parts.
Cause and effect of certain changes.
Like other have mentioned, otherwise it is best not to change the air box.
The hoses your talking about regulate the atmosphere pressure in the float bowl. As the throttle position changes on the carburetors there is an atmosphere change in the air box. Taking the hoses out of the equation by plugging or letting it hang can cause running issues such as bogging or lean burn.
These hoses should never be plugged, best situation is tapped into the new intake filters and that is best done via a "balance tube". These types of mods only work with the right exhaust system and generally require rejetting and doing plug chop checks and having an understanding of what your doing.
Anything less will greatly increase the chance of causing you grieve.
Thus the beauty of FI, got to love it.

I wouldn't do the changeover to pods due to a couple of reasons. The warm air you will be drawing will mess with jetting. One of the biggest reasons though is the underhood pressures that develop at higher speeds. It does not remain constant at all speeds. Pods work reasonably well if you aren't running with a hood.
