Pulled one off my grandmothers sled 10 years ago. Never could keep
It running right with it on. I think the biggest problem was the butterfly carbs. Might be hanging around here yet. Pretty sure I know where my old psi one is.

Someone on the phazer Facebook pages will have one Jeff. They were pretty common. Need more juice to keep up to Ryan’s srx eh?!! Lol
Ya the phazer be a whole different class lol . I’m putting a 136 under it so figured try find a pipe for alittle more hp . Ya been looking on the Facebook page as well. Ripping on the old sleds waiting for snow in the hills to pile up . It’s been fun ripping around home on the old iron

My son had one years ago bought it from a guy in Calgary it had a slp bottom end and a anen pipe was a long track when it was jetted right it would out climb my xlt sks burnt a few pistons because of the stupid carbs

Here is some info from back in my Phazer II days. I'm not sure if you will be able to find the different primary nozzle anymore but it is very important. I found out the hard way about it. I would think you can drill out the one side of the primary nozzle though to make your own if you're careful.

I think that was why guys put in Vmax carbs with some pod filters.. no more butterflies and much more tunable....

Ya thx . I been reading lots about the mid range lean spot with pipes . I found a set of the newer updated main nozzles at a local Yamaha dealer and one primary nozzle on ebay, just need one more primary now and I’ll be able to try pipe out. Some guys say to just jet up two sizes and be fine without nozzles but I’ll wait till I get all the nozzles

Ya seen lots guys swap to v-max carbs I think these butterflies will work good once updated

The butterfly carbs are always going to be a bit of a liability, I seen them burn down even after the update when running constant partial throttle. The one thing about the phazer engine is when it starts to detonate its really easy to hear. Pull the choke on immediately and you may save it.

I have done the v-max carb swap and the sled ran really good. One thing to know is you need the throttle block, cable and carbs. I deleted the oil injection as well. I gutted the air box and re-installed it, the pods were causing some lean AFR reading at certain throttle positions. To dial the carbs in I welded an O2 bung into the pipe and used a wideband to monitor the AFR. I used parts off of a 96 600 v-max.

I would suggest running a wideband to monitor the AFR with the butterfly carbs to see what is happening in the mid-range, to make sure you are not lean. I used AEM widebands.

Some good info . I”ll more than likely read plugs and start rich . Afr would be the safest I think I have one kicking around
