800 R oil/water pomp drive gear

Any one ever have the teeth of the plastic drive gear for the oil/water pump wear off ? Had this happen this weekend and the out come was not good

usually happens after rebuild if it runs dry if there was no oil in there

just did 2 never seen it before this year luckly 1 had mixed fuel in it because he just put a new motor in it and did not no about adding oil to the water pump cavity .The other one was my little brother and it happened at -39 so I think the antifreeze may have been a little thick or the lack of antifreeze lol,but both sled are fine no major after effect.

if it anything like the 4 stroke water pump gear, they will just break had it happen to me.

the motor had somewhere around 7,000 km on it, so i was expecting it to go. just never seen this before.
