Hello,
Planning a trip to Invermere in February and was told this would be a good place to take some newbie. (mom, dad and our 3 year old)
Is there a good trail system with low avi risk?

If not a good area for newbies.....where would you suggest?

Not really any trail systems. The trail is groomed from the parking lot to the gas drop. From there its a 2km whooped trail to the cabin. Big meadow with low avy danger but lots of creek dangers....
You could try paradise basin also across from Panorama, it is a 15km groomed trail to the basin. Toby Creek Adventures rents avy gear if needed.

My son and I are headed to Forster Fri. Jan. 22 and we have never rode there before and would like to hook up with someone familiar with the area if possible. We are both AST-1 certified, have all the gear and ride reliable machines. If anyone is interested you could PM me, Thanks

Paradise is groomed all the way and very easy/safe to get into the Alpine. Toby Creek is very accommodating if your bringing your own sleds. There are also a lot of unplowed back roads that are lower in the Columbia valley if your looking for just a trail ride.

Now that we have a good base at lower elevation for sure.
Park at dog leg lake and ride to twin or dunbar lake.
Warm temperatures happening up to the alpine in the next day or two.

any idea how the conditions are in forester right now? I hear they are plowing the road a ways further than the pond and the normal upper lot?

Was at a different location today, rained up to 6000'. Above that was wintery goodness.

My first time at forster very impressed nice climbing up on the lakes and excellent tree and creek riding in the valley plus a sweet warm up cabin

they need a sign... mayby place them on 20ft centers so everyone can see them. Seems like everyone needs a sign these days, its always legit until the sign is up.

The conservation officers should be ticketing idiots that post pictures of themselves breaking laws on this site. ie: Panzerdog. Your lucky cause this is usually the week the CO and RCMP are up there ticketing violators.

The signs are clearly posted at the 1st parking lot, KM 44 parking lot and also in the Sled shed warm up hut which you have a picture of yourself at.

Doesn't look like the glacier to me, looks like just up on top of the climb to the lakes, Love how quick to judge People are.
