Hey guys,

Motor will rev to 6000 rpm. Took the black caps off, and the rave plates do not lift at all up to 6000 rpm.
Took airbox out hoping a vacuum hose had come off , all looks good.
Is there a way to test the rave solenoids, or should I just get two, and hope this corrects problem?
Anywhere else I can or should look ?

Thanks.

Do they move freely by hand when not running and sit in the middle position? Running at idle they should suck all the way in. 6200 to 7800 should be back in middle then full open above 7800, maybe even 7900.

Yup. Move freely. If move one , the other moves as well. No movement at all idle, all the way to 6000 and then blah......
The PTO solenoid has a spot for a hose, but nothing connected, as shown in sketch.

I'll get the full procedure tomorrow evening out of the service manual if nobody else posts it before hand. I have a set of solenoids here in the shop as well. I'll get back to ya shortly.

Think the empty nipple is normal , it's ambient psi to outside

So checked the DPM solenoid, it clicks as it should. Replaced both RAVE solenoids, and no change in RAVE movement.
If i pull a hose off one rave valve, they both suck down, where they should at idle.
Any ideas where to check or test now ?

Cleaned them all up, and inspected bellows.
Maybe the check valves in the vaccuum hoses.
Oh well going to MM with a trail sled, should make it up to the cabins
When I figure it out, I will let you know what it was.
With reference to me, if history replays itself, it will be something simple that was totally overlooked.
Thanks guys for all the advice !

Mag side solenoid has a hose on it that is too big of ID compared to the solenoid nipples OD. The hose has a double crimp clamp holding it onto the nipple. That entire combination can create a steady vacuum leak, enough not to fully open the Valves at high rpm over 7400 I believe, or can cause intermittent lack of RPM's when you need it.

If you have an 07 800r, you should look into fixing it.

Small piece of fuel hose same length as the nipple that fits tight on the nipple and fits inside the vacuum hose.
Worm gear hose clamp
