Klim vs Arctiva?

I have just returned to sledding after a 20year hiatus. Just bought a 2009 Renegade and am outfitting myself with the rest of the gear.

I live in the Canadian Prairies and don't forsee any mountain riding in the next couple of years (young kids at home). I will be doing a mixture of on and off trail riding. I am a HEAVY sweater. I can be a little hard on gear (rips, stains primarily)

This is my dilema/options I am considering

I am able to get into Klim Klimate bib and jacket for $600 (non current model). My other option is Arctiva Comp 8 insulated bib and jacket for $415.

Like the look of Arctiva better than the Klim and I am trying to save some cash as I still need to buy a helmet and boots.

Does the Klimate performance justify the increased cost over Arctiva?

Also, I have thought about also going Klimate bib and Arctiva jacket to save some cash as I have read that bibs are typically more important than jackets.

If in my situation how would you proceed? What else would you consider?

i have full motorfist gear, i use to wear a fxr jacket and arctiva pants for around here. The arctiva pants were not bad, the fxr jacket was garbage.

the motorfist stuff keeps you warm cause if you layer right with fleece and moisture wicking materials you will stay warm cause you dont get cold and wet. Its a toss up but i would say you could go all arctiva and it wouldn't be bad.... but personally i would rather have the klim jacket and arctiva pants to save some $.

I will be running the exact set up as you are looking into. With the Klimate bibs and my Arctiva jacket. My Arctiva jacket has always kept my warm and dry even on the coldest days, and tough, snagged trees etc. no rips. As far as Arctiva Bibs riding buddy has them he said very warm but after a good day of riding his ass is soaked. I had Fly bibs, they just suck.

Go klim or MotorFist. They will out last 3 pairs of that other stuff on the market.

KLIM! We have a ton of motorfist guys with ripped up pants and a bunch of motorfist logo's as patches. Klim is a bit pricey but well worth being drying and the warranty they have is awesome!

Ya my Klim gear has been outstanding. I basically rip it through a forest every weekend

Klim has great warranty and that counts alot. If it leaks then you get a new one. I have everything Klim and love it

I have to play the broken record here and say KLIM, mine is on 4th season and still great. always dry. fell in a creek beginning of last season spent a few moments up to my chest. thought I was going to freeze, was warm all the way home on 50kms of trail and only a little wet when I stripped down at camp.

No question, get the klim stuff. Last year I started using it and this year I went head to toe with it. Pricey but being warm and dry is worth it to me.
What really sold me was their warranty. My gloves ripped and it was a defect. I sent them back and got a brand new pair, no excuses, no B.S

Question on the warranty with Klim you guys. When you send your gear to Magrath are you sending your original receipts?

On warranty you phone Klim Canada and explain your gear and issues. They then get all, your info.If they agree you need service and warranty they call u back with a claim#.You then send your washed gear in and they evaluate it.In my case both items had leakage issues so they sent me brand new gear, the latest models.

Dont waste any more of your time, their going to be sold out of your size! Buy the Klim on sale and thank us later. Their size charts run small .
