Anyone have experience with a diesel heater in a Snocat? Esp. a BR 350. This nasty cold weather has me thinking about it!

Who does the mechanical work on it? They should be able to hook a wabasto/espar to it no problem.

Normally Prinoth does any major mechanical work. I am interested in someone with experience using one. I know it would not heat the hydrostat fluid. That could be a problem.

If the tank is somewhat open. Blow the exhaust from heater at oil tank. Will warm it some. There must be lots of these with heaters on them as that are used all over the place in frigid climates

I haven't done much work on snowcats but you can install a regular webasto coolant heater and run a u coolant line into the oil tank,( your running a copper pipe through the oil pan) and heating the engine at the same time,, Installed some when I worked up north,,

What is the coldest temp you run your machine?

Our cat has a pro heat in it that circulates the coolant and runs on diesel. In 30-40 min in -15 we can start or machine and be at half operating temp. Our cat will sit for weeks on end at our warm up shelter at 5000’ as we only run it one way at a time. Haven’t had an issue in 4 seasons with starting. Just all the other cat problems you know. Pretty sure it’s very similar heater to the wabasco.
