Sean and i will be trying a few things for the Turbo 850. One will be a standard clutch kit. weights, springs, helix. The second option will be a team tied conversion. Supper excited for how the Tied will perform with this power.

turboetech) joe have you tried the 994 ramps versus the 984 stock in the 2020 T?
Joe) No. Just the 984.

Turbotech) Any benefits pros or cons in changing to the 994 ramps?
Joe) A 984 weighs 51 grams. A 994 weighs 49.1 grams. They are the same exact profile, just the underside of the roller curve is thinned around 2mm to give it that 1.9 grams lighter.

I'll mention what it "does"....and then you decide.

IF flyweight determines engine speed
and
IF a rule of thumb 1 gram = 200 rpms change
THEN the more heavy weight [984] will produce less engine speed than the [994] if they have the same pivot bolt weight.
Add 1.9 grams of pivot on the 994 and the full throttle engine speed should be the same as the 984

Thanks
Joey

^^^Thanks I assumed the ramp angle changed between the two and was thinkin to change to the 994 cuz my 850 T was hitting the rev limiter with the clickers turned up stock so I added bolt weight to keep rpm around 7900 maybe brp made a mistake and turned the hp up on this ride...will be ordering your kit soon thx

984 @ 51.0g + 16.7g pivot = 67.7g (MY 20.5)
994 @ 49.1g + 15.2g pivot = 64.3g (MY 21)
Both have the blue/purple 150/350 primary spring. The 994 should be revving higher than the 984 setup, so yeah, I can see you needing to add weight to push engine speed down to 7900 again.

So they lightened the overall setup in the primary for 2021?

Does that mean they reduced the output for 2021? None of the 2020.5 sleds I was around had any issues making rpm

So if power is truly the same, secondary setting appears to be the same, im assuming but gearing appears to be the same, primary spring is the same, ramp profile is the same but overall weight is lighter by 3 grams. So does that mean that effective angle the ramp is being held in the clutch is different? Like a clicker position -2 or something?
