there is a steel gromet that the pull rope passes thru, it cuts off the rope every 300miles or so. place a piece of heat shrink over the first 2 inches of the rope near the handle and keep replacing as necessary.

ive gotten a set 28" :on an 09 renegade800 and they really rip in the snow, up to 24" of typical settled mountain and slightly wind blown snow, up hill breaking trail no problem at all. never tried in the summer yet.
if u mod the lower airbox u will be bypassing the air sensor (mounted between upper and lower airbox) for the ecu, this may have some negative effects.
