You guys saying a stock n/a sled in the meadow will keep up with the turbo skidoo are actually right. They will keep up. I raced the turbo against a speedwerx stage 2 alpha and he actually pulled on me in the meadow with 12” of fresh. This was at 10,000 feet.
2 days later after it snowed...
My best friend has an alpha running a sc. Bottom end is phenomenal. Top end is good. Not as much power as a turbo but it still rips. It’s a fuel hog. He runs out of fuel when all the stockers are at 1/2 or 5/8.
One thing we all HATE about it is the centrifugal force from the sc...
Got’r all murdered out. Ice age rails, TKI belt drive, boondocker 2.0 bars, cut and shaved stock seat, Skinz hood, bumpers and boards, and hopefully raptor shocks before the snow flies.
Not true. The t3 don't "stand out" from the 850 in any way, except it's easier on belts for some people. Most of us are having very good belt life from our 850's. I haven't blown a belt on my 850 yet. I wish I could say the same for my xm. 3 belts in one day, more than once. Anytime the...
So I ride super tight and steep trees and you ride more open hills and chutes. That pretty much explains why we disagree. We aren't even comparing apples to apples in riding areas. I own an axys and an xm as well and I have ridden them all the same day and all that so it's not like I'm...
Like it or not, the industry is going with more tippy chassis'. Why are the manufacturers going toward narrowing sleds up? Because narrow can also contribute to predictability. But wait, narrow makes things tip over easier. In my last post I talked about it being quicker. In my...
I don't disagree with you on how they handle, but after riding my 850 for 350 miles I jumped back on an xm and that's when I realized how much of an improvement the G4 is over the xm. It's just quicker, faster, lighter and requires less effort. To tell you the truth, I didn't like the G4 when I...
True. It also takes a few years to figure out what works for your type of riding with a new chassis. The 850 is tippy enough that I'd be interested to see how it reacts to the 38" front end. Maybe that will bring back some of the stability people are looking for.
Every time a new chassis comes out there are always people who hate it and cling to their old chassis for a few years. Then they begin to see that the new chassis really is better and soon they all switch over. Disagree with me?? Then explain to me why you aren't riding the original rev...
After seeing a lot of threads and responses like this from Fred it looks like he is one of those few people that believe the xm is the greatest mountain sled ever built. Who could ever think the 850 is an upgrade? Lol
My 2009 xp walks all over my 850 as well. It's not even close. Like 4 sled lengths ahead.
Oh wait. I don't even own a 2009 anymore. Never mind. Must have been dreaming.
I would recommend aerocharger to my best friend. I have 2900 miles on my aerocharged xm. Never had any issues. If it's popping and bogging it needs new reeds. Not really the turbos fault if the reeds are shot.
Mine is a work in progress still. So far I have exit torsion delete, ice age rails, cheetah bars, 4" riser, ggb can, my own clutching and gearing(039 secondary spring, 17 grams pin weight, and 22/51 gears) and a muff pot. :)
