I just bought the rooster kit. They are using the 039 secondary spring (stiffer) and softer primary (150-250 spring) and the RB2 helix (mfg by dalton) and they include a weight kit. Sounds like you will run less weight in the primary than w/ stock spring. I'm going to give it a try w/ the ZRP...
No experience w/ the HD rear springs, but I did add a fox 1.5 zero C (compression adjustable piggyback) rear shock and Float 3 Evol r for front track shock. I have my rear compression set pretty firm and am using stock torsion springs set on 3. Skis seem to stay pretty planted on my 165 3"...
The stock 3" is awesome, but I would love to ride this 2.8 and compare! In the 3.5 pitch 165, it is said to weigh only 45lbs!! Steve says in his comments on the FB video post that it is 10lbs lighter than stock.
Has anyone weighed a stock 165 3" track?
Running the Diamond S Ti quiet can. First ride, sled ran great. The can is quiet, but has really nice tone to it when you get on it. The can weighs 3.7 lbs, so you save around 12lbs. Haven't weighed the stock can but I hear it's over 15lbs.
I have same setup w 163. I put in an adjustable pin kit, set pin weight to what SLP recommended for my ALT and left it alone. Seems to pull correct RPM now.
This has been the 2 season build. Needs to start snowing so I stop with the mods!
