always best to go after July 1 st..rivers can be high and hard to cross.. I was there on the first week of June and we couldn't cross as the rivers were very high from snow melt, but saying that you can still proberly do box canyon run. been there about 14 times now, one of my favorite places...
there are some random camping spots right on the red deer river just west of mountain aire lodge about 3km...good camping ,great trails right there and you can fish the river...so many trails when i was there for 6 days i couldnt ride them all
the rally is on the long w-end in august...the rally is on the 5th .....sunday...great rally... nice course..lots of fun but can be tough for novice riders..but always lots of help around to get you out of a sticky situation...if i remember they do have 'chicken routes" too...haha
when i was in grande cache..we camped about 2 miles north from grande cache right under Mt Hammel...there are 2 spots just off the hiway...you cant miss them..you can then do the hammel ride to the top of the mountain and the caw ridge ride from there.i did see some areas south of grande cache...
Robb is due south of Edson....you go to Edson....drive thru the town on the way to Jasper...about 3 or 4 clicks from edson you will see a UFA gas station and a bridge..turn left...follow road for about 40 or 50 k to get to robb...Right off the hiway ..you will see a stageing area for the day...
It was a really good rally..great course ...when we first started i was l worried it was gonna be a ride thru farmers fields,but it soon got better with huge water holes and some nice mud runs. Great job for your first rally but i would like to throw you some suggestions for next year...MARK...
