It's usuall a sleeve since the shock has to pivot on that mounting point.

800R Etec JUNK. Ski-doo knows it and doesn't care.

Yeah, that is pretty bad... I only had to tow mine 35-40 miles back to camp. On the plus side... The 1200 4-tec that pulled me did so without a hitch. 7000 miles on that bad boy with only one major issue...the reverse gear is never works properly. The linkage binds and the handle keep breaking.

Hope your still under warranty...Like everything that Skidoo refuses to cover when warranty is out, they're expensive. About $400 each.

I already replied that I was mistaken on the 13s. The recall was for the 2012s and came out in 2013. http://www.monsterperf.com/2012pistonrecall.pdf

800R Etec JUNK. Ski-doo knows it and doesn't care.

A friend of mine has had his polaris 800 burn down 4 times in the last 2 seasons. He paid for the first time, the dealer paid for the next 2 and then he got sick of it and traded (still burned down). The dealer rebuilt it again before putting it on the floor and determined that Polaris was...

800R Etec JUNK. Ski-doo knows it and doesn't care.

Perhaps you didn't fully read my original post. My dealer has tried to get skidoo to cover the defective crank assembly. They aren't washing their hands of me.

Maxwell, Sorry, it's been a rough day...the recall was extended to 2012s in 2013. No letter... Talk to your dealer. http://www.monsterperf.com/2012pistonrecall.pdf

No, BRP extended the recall to 2012s and 2013s. I know what I'm talking about. I've been dealing with it for 3 weeks now.

800R Etec JUNK. Ski-doo knows it and doesn't care.

You're thinking topend, not bottom end. Even my Renegade 1000 got 3900 miles before it had a crankshaft bearing failure and those sleds were notorious for blowing up.

800R Etec JUNK. Ski-doo knows it and doesn't care.

This is not the dealer deciding to not cover it. It is Ski-Doo directly. My dealer has been great about contacting them and providing all the pictures and information that they wanted. Ski-doo was "unable to find evidence that the bearing failure was due to a bad bearing." They have also been...

WARNING: To any potential purchasers of Ski-doo 800R Etec snowmobiles...Bombardier has NOT fixed their bad bearing issue in their high horsepower sleds. It started in early 2000s and continues to be a problem that they WILL NOT STAND BEHIND. My story: I have a 2012 (that's right, a 2 year old...
