I have a CR 500 that was built in 1991, I still smoke 450 4 strokes made in 2012, never had an engine problem. Unlike the the smaller 2 strokes, I don't have to rev high, so piston changes are rare and cheap and you can't beat the sound. For me in this class 2 stroke is the way to go.
