    Biggest Bonehead Moves

Good stories! :p Mine is a reverse story and involved no witnesses. I was riding third in a group of four. I was waiting at an intersection for the fourth rider. The first two had gone on. I was concerned that I was too far into the turn and the rider would blow the corner, so I decided to...

    Bettie power

I can't speak for what happens on the ladies rides in Canada, but at the Annual Ladies Ride in Halfway, the focus has always been on safety. From the very simple safety rules of group riding (waiting at intersections), to how to get yourself unstuck, identified radio channels, etc. All riders...

    Bettie power

Hmmmmm.....I truly not sure where to start. I'm a mom, a sledder, an active activist for land access (SAWS Rep for Oregon), a fierce and vocal supporter of women riders and their sledding products. However - all of that aside - I do think that it's is unfair that you expect the women to...

A look at the big pic.

There needs to be equality amongst ALL backcountry users! There is another sledder missing on Pemberton. This is the comment that makes my blood boil.... "The public is reminded to use caution when entering the backcountry on snowmobile and to make sure they are properly equipped for winter...

It's time to honor the heros! (my open letter to the media)

I'm trying to keep track of where this is popping up. Tonight, I came across this reference. It contains a link to SW, but I cannot find that my commentary has been published (which is FINE!).....I think Mr. Briggs did a GREAT job with his own rebuttal. :) In anticipation (and hopes)...

Global Newscast - Mar 18-10 (Heli-skiers speak out about Revy Avalanche)

Cool. Thanks for clarifying. I've seen this stated on several threads and finally decided to ask. :) We have to have personal licenses for boating here too. Frankly, I'm not up-to-date on the ohv rules, but I think that's where they are going with them too...personal licenses. I've...

Global Newscast - Mar 18-10 (Heli-skiers speak out about Revy Avalanche)

So, are sleds not licensed or registered in Canada now? In the US, depending on which state you live in, sleds are licensed (as in Oregon) or registered (as in Washington). As an Oregon sledder, I have to buy a sled license to ride in Wyoming....even for one day. BUT - our license...

Hi everyone! So happy to be here! I'm a native Oregonian, born and raised. I rode my first sled in 1984 - one of those hot new Yamahas! Weren't the Phazers the coolest thing or what? ;) I didn't start riding regularly until the winter of 1996/97. My sled even then was a Phazer, but the...

I just want to thank everyone for their support and for sending my commentary to others. I had no idea that when I decided to do this that the responses would be so overwhelming. As I've written previously (although I cannot remember WHERE I wrote it!) I simply sat down with my heart - which...
