No idea what he was doing. Ventured too far right before coming down I suppose. There's a pretty straight shot up on left of the rocks. It was a head scratcher but pretty obvious where it tumbled down from. The picture doesn't do it any justice for how high that drop was.
Can answer my own questions now: Chatter closed ski ops today. Road in was not as bad as I was expecting. Light was flat so we stayed down lower. It's really busy up there this year. Snow is pretty heavy but it gets better up high. Was snowing pretty good when we left.
Anyone been at Rocky Point recently? Icy on the switchbacks? How's parking for heading up the Bugaboo FSR? Just have an open two place trailer. Are they logging up that way on weekends?
Cheers!
Silent was Revy deep. Only two of us got up on the upper meadows. Backside is untouched. Trail is whooped to **** still. "Supposed" to be groomed tonight. Puked snow all day.
Rode Silent. Was pretty busy. Wooped to **** now. Would have be nice if they had at least discounted the trail pass a bit. Snow was fantastic and surprisingly stable. Still some powder stashes to be found but I wouldn't bother until they groom it.
Was up Silent today. Parked at 21. Long ride in this year but it was buttery smooth from the groom yesterday. Coverage in the alpine was fantastic. Still some powder stashes to be found.
Careful on the road. Switchbacks are icy. Somebody must have filled their pants on the way out. Skid tracks...
I lost a black Linq tunnel bag in the Quartz parking lot this morning. Did somebody pick it up or turn it in?
-update-
Was found and turned in! Thanks folks!
Does anyone know what logging plans there are up Mcmurdo FSR this winter? It was a long ride in to Silent last year. Definitely got spoiled the previous years.
Was up there on Tuesday. Parking at 17. Ride in wasn't too whooped up. Big stuff hasn't run yet. Temp swings could bring down stuff this week. Was really good up on the lakes.
Was up Rocky on Wednesday. Long whooped ride in. Parking is where Westside meets the Bugaboo FSR. The big stuff hasn't run yet. Watch out with the temp swings this week. Coverage was awesome but fresh stuff wasn't too deep.
Was at Silent today. Probably 40 riders in total. Road is plowed and lightly sanded to about 20 km. Trail was freshly groomed but just starting to get a little bumpy on the way out. Visibility was decent but couldn't get over to the back side. It'll be awesome back there if the sun pops out...
