    Question about dirtbike registration/insurance

Just because you are 16 doesn't mean that the bike must be registered in your name, you can still ride a bike registered in your parents name. The key is you must be named as the rider on the insurance policy and they will need to know your age and if you have a Class 7, 5 or 6 license. If you...

    Question about dirtbike registration/insurance

Re: 250mark1 True, lights are not required to be illuminated, unless darkness or atmospheric conditions require lights. Mountain bike lights are fine by the CO's, they are visible at 60m, so they are allowed - I spoke with the CO's directly at Maclean Creek and they said that. However, it is...

    Question about dirtbike registration/insurance

I don't think the lights are a stupid law. It's a visibility issue. I'm sure that my headlight saved me from a headon in Maclean creek - a dune buggy was flying around a corner and spotted me coming towards him at the last minute, he swerved. I have a dual sport, so it's a real headlight...

    Question about dirtbike registration/insurance

Nordic Insurance will underwrite underage riders. Your existing insurance company should be able to third party it thru Nordic, just ask them.

    Question about dirtbike registration/insurance

If you ride on crown land (off road), you must had a headlight, tail light, registration and insurance. That is a fact. You do not need a motorcycle class 6 licences, however only a few companies will insure you without it. You do not need to wear a helmet (not that the most ridiculous part...

Pack out Your Trash - Maclean Creek Users!!

So I should have cleaned up their mess? I'm part of the problem because I left it?? I was on a bike - I didn't have room for all the junk - let alone packing the dash from a car out. My reason for writing the thread was to gauge the viewpoints of others who visit this forum. There's a good...

    Closest Area to NW Calgary

I agree. I live in NW Calgary and can be in the Maclean Creek staging area much quicker than the Waiporous. Take Stoney to the transcanada, then go south to Bragg Creek on Highway 22, turn left at the four way stop in Bragg Creek, then right onto Highway 66, about 10min later turn left to...

Pack out Your Trash - Maclean Creek Users!!

If I had known they were going to leave the junk, I would have got a plate, but it was Saturday and they didn't seem like they were going to leave. Further, if I started taking plates, I would have been there a while as there were plenty of campers - mostly good ones I hope.

Pack out Your Trash - Maclean Creek Users!!

I was down in the Fish Creek area or Maclean Creek FLUZ on Saturday, June 5th and on my way in a passed a young couple in tent with a rather messy campsite. On my way out, the couple was gone so was the tent, but the mess was left behind - garbage, bottles, cans, blanket, burning campfire...

Need help finding less steep trails...

Or was what you described the Stud Creek Road that leads to the Fallen Timber Creek - with the bridge being at marker 325 on the Ghost Map. Is so, there is no way to legally ride from there to the North Burnt Timber Creek - you would need to use the public roads (Benjamin Creek and Hunter...

Need help finding less steep trails...

Wow am I confused. The Little Red Deer River is not near the Burnt. Do you mean the Fallen Timber? I think what you described was the Harold Creek Road - if so, then there are no legal trails that connect with the Fallen or Burnt. Do you have the Waiparous/Ghost Map? It has all the...

It right on this page: See approved users, then NO dirtbikes. With the ban on "highway vehicles" that also eliminates dual sport motorcycles. Why leave quads though? Curious....

Need help finding less steep trails...

You guys are pretty good at spending my money for me! I looked at the website for the Iron Horse Trail and motorcycles are not allowed - off road or road legal. Quads are the only legal ATV.

Need help finding less steep trails...

I do like the Waiparous, I just don't know the trails well enough to know which are tame. Generally the cutlines are tough, but I was hoping someone who has riden the Waiparous might suggest some marker points to try. Hey, what's with the "worried" mood?
