I'm fairly new to sledding, just got my sleds last summer.
We go about 20" of snow last night and I tried to go for a ride on my 2001 Polaris XC 800 SP today. Got stuck several times barely got it unstuck a couple times.
It has nearly new 1.25" track, and I was expecting it to go just fine...
The belly pan on my 01 XC 800 SP is broken (was when I got it) in the area that would be covered by a Skid Plate.
Belly pans are quite expensive and I am thinking of just putting a Skid Plate on it to cover up the damage and keep it from getting any worse.
I have seen a bunch of them on Ebay...
I bought an 01 XC 800 SP this fall and have not yet ridden it is snow, but I have gone for a few spins in the yard. It seems to run and perform great, but it has a VERY noticable Whirring/Whining noise when I decelerate/brake.
Has an almost new track that looks perfect, the hifaxes look good...
I am going to replace the Starter Rope on my 2001 Polaris XCSP 800 and have ordered some 3/16" AmSteel Winch Rope to use. It has 5400 Pound Average, 4900 Pound Minimum Break Strength.
I have heard of a few (but only a few) If are using it, know anyone using it, or know anything about it...
