Bought the best high end appliances back 14 yrs ago and the only rock star appliance is the bosch dishwasher. Had to replace everything else .

No that was the four orangutans running around this place. The first one hurt the most
Bought Jenn Air at my old place in 6 years only trouble I had was the wall oven control panel went once under warranty and again right as I sold it, think it was like a $2k repair. IMO the dashwasher was worth the extra coin, I miss how well it cleans compared to the regular run of the mill ones, also think the stainless steel tub is way nicer.
They seem to be hit and miss in general though. One place I just sold owned for 11 years never one issue with any appliances, different house fridge toast after 6 years, washer needed seal after a few years, HWT lasted like 6.

LG = Lifes Garbage, was told this by my buddy that owns a large appliance repair company years ago.

Malfunctions with appliances also keep me in business as I'm a building consultant for insurance companies.

BRP wouldn't warranty it.
Most of our appliances are ~15 years old.
Amana Fridge - one control board replacement a few years ago, solid since but the blend door is pretty loud. Wife wants one with water built in but know they're all junk now and don't want a water leak. Repair guys says hang onto it as last of the good ones.
LG Stove - board replacement under recall, never actually died
2nd Amana fridge - replaced blend door, chit the bed about a year later. Replaced with $1000 POS offbrand from the Brick, still working.
Kenmore Dishwasher - needed a drain hose repair a few years ago been a skookum choocher other than that
GE dryer died, can't remember why. Replaced with used Maytag commercial - skookum choocher
GE washer - old school top loader, replaced agitator cams last year, skookum choocher

So far our appliances have been good. Bought washer and dryer (Samsung) when we moved into our house 13 years now and they have been trouble free. The belt jumped off the dryer but it was from a mouse the got caught up in the belt. Fridge is a Samsung and is about 12 years old still works. Stove , microwave is only 5-6 years old and are ge no issue with them. Had a string of bad dishwashers only a year or two then issues. Bought a Bosch and has been good for a long time now.

We went to Trail Appliance 3 years ago and dropped $6500 on all new appliances.
All Samsung, Double fridge with water and ice, gas stove, OTR microwave, dishwasher, washer, steam dryer (had to hook a water line to it, wife wanted it).
The only issue we have so far, is that the air dryer in the gas oven sets off the smoke detector every time!!! And the R/O system wasn't enough pressure for the ice maker and fridge. Tapped back into the water line and everything is good.

my dad bought new fridge and gas stove in 1952.. he died in 97 and they still worked..Mom died in 2012 and they still worked fine..i sold house to my neice and her step dad said,,get new ones..better than that old crap.. so i gave the fridge and stove to local friend who lives in country and never had a fridge..or stove, just wood and hole in ground.. those new ones my neice got both cratered last yr and the 1952 ones still work great ,i visit the old boys son at his late dads house.

Are you saying that around 2012 (or shortly after) you had a friend that didn’t own a fridge or stove….????
Did they still use outdoor plumbing…???

Home Depot is delivering us a new washer and dryer today. We went with Samsung, old style top and front load, with all the modern conveniences that the wife wanted.
They offered free delivery and hook up from Lethbridge to Fort Macleod and free removal of the old ones. Free removal of old, won me over.

yes he died at 88 in 2016 lived in bush,since 50s , no power..no fridge,has hole dug in ground next to river,,he kept his meat in there in summer.in the 8 months of winter,keeps it outside in cupboard..now son put solar panels on roof,,wind generator and honda power plant,,his dad didnt want any fancy ch!t.same lil 12 by 20 cabin.

Well we just had the dishwasher quite pumping water( very low pressure). It's a bosch, about 25 years old. I thought it might be the water circulation pump. Checked out a price on a new one...$331, 2-3 month wait and non refundable. With nothing to lose at this point I decided to take it apart, the whole dishwasher. Bosch has a great system for working on. Lay it on it back and the whole bottom comes off for easy access. I pulled out the pump and took the cover off. The inside has a propeller and another part that goes on the shaft of the motor( spin on). The propeller and the other part was separated and I glued it back together. The dishwasher works like new. Wife is happy and I saved hundreds of dollars.
