Realized there isn’t an updated thread on Hunters’ out of Enderby so here it is.....

210 cm today, about 10 km north of the Main Chalet. The snow is great and there are honey holes that are untracked. A great base in the trees with a minimum of 30 cm of fresh and on the leeward side of the meadows it is deeper. No sun today and visibility got worse the higher one travelled.

It was Ladies Ride day today and there were hundreds participating. All the parking lots were full and 50 vehicles were parked on the road by the kiosk. We were able to find people less meadows and had a great ride.

Wife and I pulled in to Hunters yesterday and when I saw the traffic and heard the amount of riders from the kiosk lady, turned around and headed for Lafarge. 44 riders and bumper deep all day. Though it socked in pretty good. Still saw some of that crowd at Gordon Sydney from Hunters side as we came in from Cook.

We are headed up Wednesday to sicomous and was thinking hunters but now that I’ve heard about the traffic there this past weekend I’m second guessing lol. Where is Lafarge from hunters?

Rode Hunters yesterday from Brash stayed below the cabin and had good snow all day in the trees and even found an untouched cutblock. Closer to the cabin more tracks and the day old were frozen up pretty solid.

Go to Hunters, there is so much country back there its not hard to find fresh snow.
Hunters Range is one of the largest riding zone you'll find south of Revy and has some of the best riding.
Here is a tip.
90% of sled traffic burn up the trail to the main chalet and a vast majority ride around the first kilometer from the chalet, while the other majority will work up the main trail to Gordon Sydney cabin.
If you do that, it will be tracked up.
BUT
At the beacon check, get lost off trail and enjoy. Many miss some of the best snow covered zones are actually before the chalet.
Have fun, play safe.

Thanks Ferniesnow for a awesome three days and for being a top notch tour guide. Snow certainly was way better than down here in Fernie. Hunter range is such a huge area and for every level of riders. I totally agree with the top notch grooming. Was nice to met the president and his wife and also a snow and mud member.
