Does anyone know of sled insurance that covers engine failure and a chopper ride - wawanesa sure doesn't - not sure if it's a thing - or maybe a sled specific insurance outfit any help would be appreciated

Problem is - there is an insane amount of money dumped into the sled and the payout wouldn't be close to enough - forced to eat the chopper ride I think - I think the boost injector failed on mag side

That's what I would say, pull the mag side plug wire and let 'er rip on one cylinder.
I've rode out 90km before on one cylinder, melted the exhaust side of the piston right off. Twin cylinder 2 stroke running on one sounds like an old john deere tractor, when the turbo spooled it sounded like a fast john deere tractor, it would still make 8lbs boost and would walk away from the 600's and come close to keeping up with the 800's.

Okay. Not an auxiliary injector then, it would still start if that was the case.

I feel like the melted mag side piston is because of the aux injector failing in some way leaning it out on that side - chopper is supposed to fly tomm - hopefully get it home and start figuring out the weakest link and rectify it

Sled is in wolverine at renshaw - 2 seasons ago it cost a buddy $1900 to get it from the bottom of the elevator which is past wolverine - we will see if it's covid pricing I guess

I remember hearing part of the cost is all the companies are outta vale or blue that can fly a sled. I could be wrong.

Yup got you by the short and curlys - only one is yellowhead choppers outta vale - been waiting at the sandman since Sat night - said they didn't have pilots - its been awesome watching 5 channels at the sandman fml

A little story. December 2015. Brand new Summit- first trip out. Nipple broke off the oil tank resulting in a blown engine. We were at the east end of Wolverine meadows. About 2 feet of fresh snow. Went to Home Hardware in town and bought a plastic tub sleigh. Borrowed HH’s drill and put holes down both sides of the sleigh. Bought a cheap snatch block, about 400 feet of 3/8 rope, and a bunch of rubber bungies. Next day, back to the broken sled. We put the sled in the sleigh snd bungied it down as best we could. One sled would go up about 200 feet ahead, hang the snatch block off the rear bumper. Attach the rope to the broken sled, through the snatch block, then attach the other end of the rope to a pulling sled which would pull back down hill towards the broken sled. Had to repeat this manoeuvre many times to get out. A bit of work but a lot cheaper than a chopper. Buddy called BRP customer service and they compensated him $700. Just another adventure in the mountains. Lol.

Chopper is flying my sled soon - my groups sleds are not setup for towing whatsoever and neither are the dudes I'm with - one had a dislocated shoulder on day 1 so bad Mcbride hospital had to put him out to pop it in - other 1 has pneumonia and a piled 2014 rmk mntk turbo - the one kid in my group has an 850 with the flap and the aluminum ripped off the back - my dirty banana weighs as much as a sh*tty m1100 - I'll find out later today how much the covid pricing is on a chopper ride - I'll be just happy to have my banana in the trailer headed outta here with my tail between my legs - been waiting since sat at noon for this expensive taxi ride - the frustrating part of all of this - is the extreme lack of urgency from yellowhead choppers - my buddy 2 seasons ago waited 2 months to get his 850 fro bottom of the elevator - the kid on the 850 helped some sask boys till 1am last night- get a brand new piled doo from bottom of elevator- the vids and post of that is on fcbk 306 riders union we thought they were in trouble so we headed up to check on them at 1am - met em at km 20 on the trail - the dad was pretty worried - all and all its been an adventure - never coming to renshaw again without my backup towing snowmobile - never felt so screwed before on a trip till this happened in the town with the biggest riding area and the absolute least amount of resources for sledding

Doesn’t Rod from ADRENALINE tours do sled rescue missions anymore? Be a lot cheaper and quicker too. Wolverine meadow is a pretty easy rescue.
