Haha yeah the Webasto's and the Espars are the real deals, but cost about $800 - 1000. that one should last you a lifetime. The chinesium ones are priced comparable to their life expectancy....LOL

I bought the one piece kit. For myself, it would fit my needs better (I hope). I have a 7ft trailer, so limited to where to put everything.

Last time I ran the heater was May. Yesterday it started up perfect. I ran it for 30 minutes did the shut down. Good to go.

One thing with these heaters. Is voltage/amperage. Not just start up and running.
The shut down uses as much voltage/amperage as start up.
If they do not shut down properly they are basically left flooded with diesel. Then probably won’t start up. Will require tear down and cleaning.
I learned this when I first got mine and the battery went dead while running for about 4 hours.

There is no 8kw. Only 5 and 2. It is a 5 kW. They just say it is 8 kw

What’s the amp draw for on shutdown?
Shouldn’t it just stop injecting fuel… fan run until cool and then just shut off?
I still haven’t pulled the trigger on one of these units… but it’ll be soon

It turns the glow plug back on during shut down. To burn clean. I think 10 amps start and shut down.
Only if you did this repeatedly I could see it somehow flooding but not likely. Because the glow plug turns on before it starts its injection cycle, it burns off any residual diesel left from an incomplete shut down. I've had mine in my trailer shut down a couple times (once was a plugged intake from snow and once during driving in a huge wind) and both times it fired right up again no issues. The intake blockage threw a code saying "insufficient intake air", so I checked that first, and if it shuts down on its own, do some troubleshooting and check things over before trying to fire it up again. My other one in the garage has never shut off by itself.

Stoopid question, what are you guys using to fill the tank? Trying to avoid splashes and spills inside the enclosed.
