ATV started acting up last year in that it would get hot and throw the HOT light when working it in hills and going slow. Have confirmed rad ok, sensor ok, and thermostat ok.
Is there any way that the water impeller can wear out?? ATV has over 3000 miles.
Thanks

How did you confirm the rad was functional? I have a 2005 sportsman 800 that started overheating awhile back and I ended up pulling the rad out and running a flash light through it and only had a small spot where the fan was where light actually shone through. I gently flushed the fins at the car wash on low pressure cause they were plugged with cement like sand from riding in muddy water and then drying out. Haven't had an issue since I cleaned it.

I ran a flashlight from the back side and the whole rad was clean and light shone through. Iat first suspected your cure, but not my problem.

the impellers usually don't wear out but I have seen them melt from overheating the quad. it is very easy to pull the cover off the water pump and check.
