Anyone riding tomorrow morning (Saturday) that I can jump in with? Out here in a cabin for tonight/tomorrow night with my wife (supposed to be riding tomorrow) but my riding crew didn't make it.
There are a few meadows there that are rideable, but most of what you see on Google maps are going to be cutovers with stumps / logs that never get enough coverage in a typical snow year. The ones that are get tracked out very very quickly unless you're there the day of / after a snowfall.
The first memories I have of sledding were on a 93 formula plus with the old man. He bought it new and sold it in 2008 or so. It was absolutely immaculate despite him letting me take it through my teenage years. I had to wax it before I left and again when I got back. He'd make my mom get off...
It can, I don't know too many who have done it though. I've heard of a few buddies in Elkford picking their way over to try and see how far they can get to Fording. With the right riding skills and navigation I'm sure it's possible but not commonly done for sure.
Link to the new Cataract Creek PLUZ map, works great with the Avenza app. Will place you right on the map as a blue dot and has tracking if you turn it on...
Fording pass is Alpine. The trail in can be interesting in early season. It follows the Baril Creek trail, I marked it in the Cataract map here for you.
