I had the same problem a while ago. I think what finally fixed it was the the ground strap from the starter. for some reason the starter wasn't getting a good enough ground through the block.
Also found out that there are 2 different starters for an 07 the replacement that I got didnt last very...
Hey Brapp were you in the group of guys with us making trail into goat, I was the 07 XRS, my buddy had the cat. if so I just wanted to say it was fun riding with you guys ... Those lets call them more experienced riders, the guys with the rum.. funny as hell.

Here we Go again, people that use the area having to fight to keep an area open against people that have never seen the area except on a map at a lobbyists $1000 a plate dinner. This system of fighting to keep areas open is rediculous. We need to pass a law that says only people that pay taxes...
just blew mine at 1700 miles. it shut down on trail to silent pass it was hard to turn over then let it sit 10 mins. it fired up but had a bad squeal so shut it off and towed it back to the truck when I took it apart the wrist pin brg was trashed rod had been heated real bad and con rod brg...
Just took my engine apart and found wrist pin brgs toasted, rod got hot, and con rod brg feels a little rough.:mad:
looks like I need a crank rebuild and some pistons. Does anyone have a good guy to get this stuff from. last I heard there was a guy from saskatoon rebuilding cranks.
after reading all of this no one has mentioned sedating the horses and skimming them out avoiding the $5000 helicopter bill.
has anyone talked to the local trappers to see if this is possible.

bought my brother the mottocomm last year for xmas used it for mountain sledding and no complaints. battery life and video storage are good.

I had mine done last year. I went to mitchell eye center in Calgary He is one of the original doctors and he does every surgery himself. Dr. Mitchell was a little more expensive but he was very thorough. this surgery is something I would do my homework on and it is no time to be bargain shopping...

very interesting thread the only thing I would add is I would be careful when considering oil. there is alot more to consider than clean power valves. I would rather clean valves once a year than rebuild my engine.
