No body has ever explained this to me before so I thought I would ask. Why would a turboed sled running at 10 psi at 2000 feet be more likely the detonate then the same sled running at 10 psi at 7000 feet. I know that the air is more dense at lower elevations and less dense at higher elevations...

I just bought one i will be going to valemount from dec 2 till the 6 i can let you know after that. The guy i bought it form said it was really reliable he also built a 200? custom sled with the liberty 800 engine in it with the same turbo system so obviously he liked the setup.

I have never owned a turboed sled before i just got it and i have never heard detonation in person just from what i read online that it is a pinging noise and when it happens your egts lower. what does the stock sensor do when it detects knock it retard the timing and add fuel and then the check...

Here is my new sled havent ridden it yet i just bought it. first trip up will be from dec 2 till the 6 in valemount. its hard to see in the pics but i has a turbo it is running around 12 lbs of boost on 100 ll av gas.

I was just woundering if there was an aftermarket knock sensor i could get for my 2009 dragon 800 turbo so i can ride it at lower elevations obviously with a much higher octane fuel and lower boost but i just want to make sure it doesnt blow up.

Hey i am newish to this forum. lol i am from edmonton and have been riding snowmobiles for like 10 years now i started when i was like ten. i currently have a 2009 dragon 800 rmk 163 with a garrett turbo charger running around 12 lbs of boost. i usually ride valemount mcbride and blueriver.

well i am going to blue river on december 3 weekend with my 2009 polaris dragon 800 with a custom turbo running on av gas and the builder is coming with me to show me how to tune it properly and everything. hopefully i am not sitting at the bottom of the hill the hole time tuning. lol
