I am the current anchor of CBC News Calgary's weekend newscasts.Toronto is where I was born and raised, and it's also where my interest in news and journalism was born.I got my start at CFMT (now OMNI) and Young People's Press before moving on to be a Reporter and Anchor for Rogers TV Peel. While at Rogers, I was also the weekend producer and host of First Local Week in Review, a comprehensive 1-hour news magazine program. In addition, I have also worked as a news writer for The Weather Network, writing weather-centric casts for a national audience.I joined the CBC family in January 2010, as multi-platform reporter/host in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador (woot! woot!). During my time out east, I covered everything from hurricanes to provincial elections, telling stories from all over the province.Aside from my work on air, I'm also the Editor of Planet Africa Magazine, a Toronto-based quarterly publication that celebrates the achievements of the Black community across the diaspora. I'm one of the first graduates of the University of Guelph-Humber (2006), having achieved a journalism diploma from Humber College and a BAA in media studies from the University of Guelph.Whether it's a road trip or just discovering a new neighbourhood, I love exploring and am very happy to now call Calgary home.
