It absolutely is and that is why I made the post. Tolerable inconvenience once you understand it. BUT....the crappy part is that it can have really bad consequences if on incorrect.

Sorry to dredge up old material but I have some observations on hood fitment from my experience. It's not a go / no go situation. "Kinda sorta maybe" works just fine and I feel that is where some issues come from. I threw the hood on quick once and quick pins fastened, the T30 sure felt...

New Helmet with or without breath box

I second this. It's a balaclava with no fog snout built in. I love it. Works as well as original no fog but no metal band to form around your nose.

    Alpha or M8000?

Nice! I like the purple. My Hard Core came with that windshield bag and I like it. Pretty handy.

With the nose piece out and coming at it from the backside (opposite from vertical ribs) I think you could. Guess I didn’t even think about using the die grinder. Then you could get it cleaned up real nice.

Ok. That is the gasket I’ve been yapping about. I di-electric the hell out of it before the hood goes on. Now at least I’m not going to be having to pull the hood off each time just side panels. Well probably still will to blow out cat tails.

Turblue your attachment didn’t work. This is is the gasket I’m talking about. I haven’t seen it on the snowest thread about snow ingestion or the video I watched where the guy installed the defender. Everything I have seen has looked to be plastic mated to plastic. Mine has a ribbed...

Their shipping is fast. You can’t go wrong with what method you use be it the defender, Lund’s, or even the other poster who used prefilter and straps on the side. Something is better than nothing. Bottom line is you are still taking intake apart. Although i I still feel there is an...

Maybe hour from take apart to hood back on. Biggest hang up was cutting out the ledge. Couldn’t fit cutting wheel down in there and carving out with utility knife was tedious. Eta - watched a video of a guy doing the install in french. He drilled a bunch of little holes and used dykes to cut...

Plus I modified the snow flap in hopes the track wouldn’t want to eat it so much. We will see how long it lasts. Only thing I had for rivets. Worst case Ontario this gets shredded and I at least have a template.

Foam? Like old school hood foam that was on the underside? The one picture of it complete was just like how it was when I took it apart. No underside hood foam.

Put in the mountain fit defender today. A lot more than 8 screws so I wonder if that’s changed. At least it’s done now and I don’t have to worry. Lots of rtv between the filter base and nose cone. Hood is back on. While I was laying on ground putting the t30 back into the...

I like that. I took hood off yesterday, had no water/moisture where the hood attaches in before throttle bodies and I got a teaspoon out of the intake track when I was rolling the hood around. Would be stupid of me NOT to install the defender since I already have it. I assume the...

Nice!!! I really like your rear bumper!!!! I’ve read a lot about the air box / intake issues before I had this in hand. I ordered the mountain fit defender as a preventative measure. Friday night when I was able to tear things apart I noticed no real issues. Mine has a rubber gasket...
