We are at some of the strongest prices in my 43 year farming career.. for me personally I do like to see this after four years of consecutive wrecks but I almost wish it would be more averaged out over the years

Machinery cost is out of control, land prices going up yearly, input cost jumping over 10 percent

In the end someone is paying for all this and it’s the consumer.. with the middle men making the biggest cut

That’s right out of control.. 1.5 million for dry land.. good luck paying that one off

In the last four years we have averaged less than 4 inches a year.. do t grow much with that.. and new iron will bury you quick

Purchased a few quarters this spring and it never sold for 350/quarter.. he tried.. got it for 250

Everything has to be paid for over time.. but this 38 cent lentil price will certainly help if the rains keep coming

Land is cheap down there. Going for minimum $3000/acre here and some west of us got $4000. Better buy it all up fred. They aren't making any new land

Mother Nature is the land price correction factor..

After four years of wrecks in our area, it’s not been a very lucrative business

Had two good size farms shut down and they ran a efficient practice this year..

Land usually does not drop, but there is stagnant times, it will be going up now with crop prices

Wow... you’re getting a deal around there!

Latest land traded here for $6250, and it’s possibly below average land.

Scary isn’t it…..the worst thing is that often it’s foreign money backing the purchases…Europeans see the value in the farm and ranchlands compared to Europe and there’s so much money fleeing Hong Kong they’re buying everywhere to safely park their money….

Haven't looked at mine yet. With the stress of no moisture and now minus temps I'm scared to. -2 last night when I went to bed and 1 at 5:30 so hopefully it never made it to a killing frost number. Will look this morning and see.

We were about the same I think, a little bit of -1 and -2 overnight.

Would say around red deer looks like bullet was dodged, barley that was up looks worse than the canola. Great story pulled into a customers yard had a new shop on the go, asked him if he won the lottery he said sort of.... had 30,000 bushels he sold un priced between $16-21.

Canola looks better than peas as they look stressed from wind and dirt blowing. Canola stubble has small ripple drifts from stupid wind the other day
