Somehow I broke the screen on my InReach. I didn't have any major dismounts either.
I contacted InReach to see about replacing the screen. They said no.
They did offer a new InReach for $300. I find it strange that they don't offer repairs.

is it the physical screen or is there some sort of protector over the actual LCD?

If you turn it on, is the image all spidered out and ugly?

Now that you've asked that, I wonder if it's a protective sheet over the screen because the image looks fine.
I have the typical plastic screen cover for scratches but it's cracked underneath.

I'm just thinking maybe a cell phone repair place could put a new "glass" into it for you?

That’s a good idea. Doesn’t hurt to ask.

Went through the same a year or two ago. Note that your device is DeLorme. Prior to Garmin buying them out. Garmin’s offer to trade it out is a reasonable compromise. I got the same unit back, not an upgrade to Garmin, so if I break it again, still no repair available. You might be better to look at a new Garmin. Ask them what their flat rate repair cost is on a new model.

I have the exact same unit. Crapped out a year ago. Battery will not charge and would not connect to my PC . Garmin said it was a bad USB cable. They sent me three new cables at no charge and still no luck. I replace the battery with a new one and no luck. I asked them what it would cost to repair and they basically said that they would exchange it for $300. I chose to cancel my subscription since it doesn't work. If your interested I could sell it to as parts. Make me an offer.

Ill see if I can find someone that can do the repair. If I do, I’ll contact you about your unit.

Thanks Pipes!
Bought his unit off of him and swapped the cover easily with a T6 torx. The plastic screen that broke is part of the front outside shell and looks like it would be very hard to replace the screen itself. Could be glued in place.
Got some spare parts to keep this going for a while now. :)

Glad that the parts worked for you. I came so close to just throwing it out but glad that I held off on that. Better that some who needs parts get it than sending it to the landfill.
