Hey, so rumor has it that BC is putting in or has already put in the bylaw, that you can no longer fuel your sleds in an enclosed trailer. Has anyone else heard this, or is it in affect already in BC?

I believe that's supposed to be applicable everywhere, and they base it upon the fact that the operator of the gas station cannot see whats going on. They have to be able to see what taking place so they can hit the ESD if something goes sideways.

At the pumps. You can either unload the sleds, or fill jerry cans up and fill sleds up inside trailer that way.

That makes sense. But i dont know how you would even fuel sleds in a 30' trailer.

That is true, since we are on the fuel thing , How about pay before you pump?

Pay before you pump is annoying but if you're using a credit card it's nice and quick and you dont have to wait in line inside while that one person wants to check 43 lottery tickets, or wants to see what brands of cigarette they have then proceed to argue with the attendant as why they dont carry their brand. Pay before you pump sucks if youre paying cash.

Just wait till it comes to Alberta due to all the douches that gas and run.

The flying hook in the park is like that already at night. In the end, the honest guy is still paying for it all:rolleyes:

I was fueling up one day at the "J" and was waiting in line to pay. A cube van pulled up so they couldn't see my truck anymore, the lady looks out and pages the boss with a panicky look in her eyes. She tells him they have had a truck run off with out paying and to call the police (I'm guessing they have it on video). When he asks what pump it sounds familiar...Ooops, that's my pump.
They were great about the embarrassing moment and apologized many, many times. They also told me that is one of the tricks, have a large moving type van pull up so the other vehicle can slip away without paying.

Oh I agree, it's a pain in the "you know where"....and law in BC.
I pay cash when sledding so it's even harder for me to get fuel some times because I have no desire to leave a Fifty with some snott nosed kid and then have him say _ what Fifty???

Well it will be interesting. I've been doing some research on it, and apparently its coming to BC, and passed as a bylaw. On the up side, deck sales might go up for companies.

i think what it may very well do if it becomes a hassel is the every day customer who does buy an enclosed trailer will buy the units with built in fuel stations. that way you refill the fuel station from outside the trailer where the attendants can view the situation, then fill your machines from inside with the fuel station within :)

Can you give a link to where this info is coming from?

Its annoying period. Those pumps may have changed but last winter they would only pre-authorize for $100. On 2 occasions I pulled in and had to swipe my card twice just to fill my truck then swipe again to start filling 5 sleds in trailer and jerry cans...once I hit a $100 again we had to pull hose from trailer and hang back up before I could swipe my Visa again then send hose back inside to continue...all in all my visa was swiped 5 times so when I get off the hill that night I have a phone call from the bank as they put a freeze on my card as they thought it was stolen due to being swiped 5 times in a 15 minute period. This happened on 2 separate trips last yr...not a big deal to get my Visa cleared but a pain in the a$$ just the same. My solution was to get one of my passengers to use there Visa...lol. They had the same problem but I figured better them then me..lol. Thats it for my rant maybe something changed and you can pre authorize for the full amount now...I'm hoping anyway.
